Leeds lost 1-0 to QPR on Saturday, and one of the main sub-plots of the game at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium was Jack Clarke’s debut for the London club.
The winger played his first game for his new team against his former side, and he helped the Rs pile the misery onto the Whites.
Clarke is a professional, and there’s no room for sentiment at that level, but it seems as if the winger felt a little bit sorry for his former teammates after the game as he was snapped consoling both Ezgjan Alioski and Luke Ayling.
There were plenty of hard feelings from United supporters when it was announced that Clarke would be joining Mark Warburton’s outfit, but it seems as if those attitudes aren’t present amongst the player as the teenager embraced his ex-teammates after the game.
It’s a bittersweet image really. Seeing Clarke back on the pitch after being neglected by Marcelo Bielsa for the first half of this season is good as he’s a young player developed by United’s academy. However, it’s unfortunate that his first action as a QPR player was to beat his former employers.
The youngster clearly still has a lot of love for the club he broke through at, and he seemingly maintains a good relationship with a few of his old mates.
Clarke only featured once in the league for the Whites this term, a tally he’s already matched at QPR.
In other news, Phil Hay has made a huge transfer prediction for Leeds United.
