Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was reported by Football Insider that Jeffrey Schlupp faces three months on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the 0-0 draw against Watford.
The Ghana international – who was just starting to come into some form having scored in back-to-back games against Burnley and Bournemouth – has reportedly suffered tendon damage to his hip, and could be out of action for between ‘two to three months’.
This news should come as a real blow to Roy Hodgson, as the former Leicester man and Premier League winner is a fantastic option to have as a result of his versatility, which has seen him appear at left-back, centre-midfield and left-midfield for the Eagles.
It is also another blow for Hodgson in the respect that the former England manager is also without Joel Ward for the game against Brighton on Monday, while Patrick van Aanholt may also be a doubt and Mamadou Sakho sits out the second game of his three-match ban.
However, it is the issue with Schlupp that has the Palace fans on Twitter talking.
These two fans expressed concern over the situation, with one making the quite obvious point that the news about Schlupp isn’t good, whereas another said that Steve Parish needs to find his bank card to sign reinforcements as the squad is looking “mighty thin again”.
Elsewhere, these two fans also had their say. The first of the pair said that they were “gutted” for Schlupp, whereas another expressed their disappointment over the situation in the form of a sad-looking emoji.
Lastly, you can see that these supporters were also fairly worried about the situation. @FilLombardo said that this is “worrying news”, while the other fan said that this is “really bad news if true” which is perhaps an understatement given how important Schlupp is to the side.
In other news, these Crystal Palace fans criticised this player after he directed some comments towards the club…
