Marcelo Bielsa has worked wonders with some of Leeds United’s players when it comes to rejuvenating their careers.
Mateusz Klich went from being an unneeded loanee to starting every single league game since the Argentine took charge, and Kalvin Phillips went from being a player fans wanted to see sold, to being touted as the best player in the Championship.
One midfielder that hasn’t had a new life injected into his career under Marcelo Bielsa is Eunan O’Kane.

Unfortunately, the Irishman hasn’t played a single game under the 64-year-old since his appointment, and a horrific double leg fracture last season means he hasn’t played at all for over a year.
Fortunately, he may have been offered a career lifeline as he’s going to get the chance to play Championship football again after signing for Luton Town on loan for 18 months.
Not only will this be a chance for O’Kane to get back playing and return to match fitness, but it’s an opportunity for him to show Bielsa exactly what he can do.
The midfielder isn’t a bad player, and it can actually be argued that he has more pedigree than the majority of Championship midfielders. He’s won promotion from this division before with Bournemouth and he’s played a fair share of games in the Premier League with the Cherries, appearing 16 times in the south coast club’s first season in the top-flight. That shows he’s far better than perhaps the level he’s dropping to.
If the 29-year-old can rediscover the form that made him a useful asset for Eddie Howe’s side in the Premier League, then there’s a minuscule chance it could earn him a new deal once his 18 months away are up.
In other news, Leeds may be delivered a financial blow.
